Another pair of pinhole images

Yesterday I posted a couple Zero Image pinholes that were part of a series of pinholes of people reading. Here are a couple more from that same series. Bridget is my subject this time.

I especially like the second picture since you can see that she's got her hands resting on an anatomy book that's opened to an illustration of the arm.

Zero Image pinholes

A while back I took a number of portraits of my friend Crysta. In addition to color film and digital shots, I also took some black and white photos of her. I subjected her to a couple pinhole images. Fortunately, she didn't need to sit long since it was outside on a sunny day (in the past I've forced people to sit still for 20 minutes for a pinhole that didn't turn out...brutal!). Now that I have an Epson Perfection V750 scanner, I can actually scan my larger negatives at a much higher quality (oh happy day!!).

In honor of my new scanner and Crysta, who said she was most interested in the pinholes, here they are.

This is part of a project I've been working at off and on...pinholes of people looking at books. Sometimes you can see the pages in motion. Sometimes less so.

Project for cruddy June weather

The running joke in the Pacific NW is that summer doesn't start until late July/early August and lasts until September. Sad to say, this year is living up to that reputation. Now that I have a bit more free time and the weather is for the most part bad, I feel justified in hunkering down inside and working on indoor projects (as I type this, I'm wearing fingerless gloves, long pants, a turtle neck and overshirt...sigh). Anyhow, my husband requested I make him a canvas apron for his birthday. I was a little nervous about this, since my sewing skills are really rudimentary. However, it's an apron and the cloth was fairly cheap, and, what the heck, it would probably fit even if it was the "wrong size." It didn't take me too long to make, but it did take a bit of time. I just finished it today and added a Mizpah Hut patch per his request. I don't think I understood all the directions, so I just winged the stuff I didn't understand and it came out okay. This is what it looks like:
In honor of his new apron, he made me a lovely potato and leek soup, which I just ate. Yum!

Abandoned house revisited

A few months ago, I wrote a post that included some pictures of an abandoned house that is located next to the local bicycle trail. Well, today I rode past on my bike and was surprised to see that it had burned down. Oddly enough, there were still flames in the guts of what had been the house, so the house must have just burnt down in the last 24 hours. Crazy! Anyhow, I went back this afternoon to take some photos. Although the flames were gone, I could still hear the crackling of wood so there are still some hot embers in there. Strange times....
As it was
As it is

Spider with dewdrops

Not much new here to report. I have some black and white negs that I need to contact sheet. I've got a few that are very abstract-like landscapes. Super-contrasty. Hoping the positives live up to the promise of the negatives.

This is an older digital photo. I quite like the little globes of dew.
