Water clowns

As a kid, I always loved the water clown games at the boardwalk on the Jersey shore. This photo was taken at the Puyallup Fair last weekend (a far cry from the Atlantic Ocean). I've applied some filters to it to give it that vintage look (OMG, does that mean anything from my childhood is vintage? I know you can find the fashions from the 70s in vintage shops, so I guess that makes me vintage as well.)
Do you feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?

Puyallup Fair 2013

I took this photo at one of the 4H events last Sunday morning. My way of approaching the fair is to go early in the morning, when it first opens and leave within about 2 hours. The perfect arrival and departure times for a person who wants to be where crowds show up but who hates the crowds.

Bad film and a dark night

I had some expired Kodak film (I think it was from 2003) lying around that I decided to abuse before actually using it. I stuck it on the deck to bake in the sun for a couple days and then put it in the Ansco cheapie camera and left it there for at least a month before finishing the roll. Well, most of the shots were crap...though the grain of the film turned into what looked like astro turf. Here is an example of the astro turf look. This is a photo of my friend, Carla in the woods. Rather than look like her usual lovely self, she appears to be being eaten alive by grass.
Anyhow, I did get one shot that I kind of like. It's a shot of the ferris wheel at the Puyallup Fair with a smear of lightness across it. With a little tweaking in Lightroom, it looks a little better.

A Proud Pigeon at the Puyallup Fair

This pigeon was posing for me beside his award. He just kept standing there, making sure I noticed that he was a champion. I must say, he was very good looking for a pigeon.

Western Washington Fair in Puyallup

Although the Puyallup Fair ended at the end of September, I thought it would be fun to post a couple Lubitel shots I took last year of the park. Though I don't normally print things large, I'm tempted to try to make a really big print of the 2nd image since there's so much going on and tons of color.

Oddly enough, the Flaming Lips were playing at the fair this year. What a show...I still get high thinking about how great it was. Here are a couple (not very good) shots from the show.
